The new issue of Beyond Surfaces customer magazine provides a review of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Conference in October 2021 and features our co-founder Caroline with her thoughts on the potential of digitization in the AM (Additive Manufacturing) industry.
The conference, themed Momentum for Growth, opened with an event in which seven start-up companies, among them nebumind, pitched their ideas to industry executives looking to support innovation. Ideas ranged from the company using AM to produce drives for electric vehicles to one aiming to make AM more scalable using an end-to-end high throughput process to one offering an automated surgical planning software to surgeons. nebumind pitched its digital twin software using data in ways that have achieved time savings of up to 80% in AM.
Our co-founder, Caroline, later on explained the importance and the potential production data holds for the AM industry. While most companies so far focus their data analytics efforts on ‚business intelligence‘ topics, i.e. making production lines more efficient with better production planning tools, the nebumind software focuses on ‚manufacturing intelligence‘ topics, i.e. understanding what happens during the printing process and fine-tuning machines in a way to identify and reduce defects early – in very little time.
