A week full of exciting events is coming to an end. Read here what nebumind presented on site and what impressions our team took away from the events.

16. Day of the German Aerospace Regions, Bremen

The Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, the Regional Forum of the German Aerospace Industries Association and the Senator for Economics, Labor and Europe of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen with the network AVIASPACE BREMEN e.V. invited to the 16th Day of German Aerospace Regions in Bremen.

Under the motto „SMEs support climate-neutral flying“, topics related to climate protection and digitalization in the aerospace industry were discussed.

Franz Engel, our Co-Founder, presented nebumind in a 60 sec pitch to the audience. His two biggest takeaways:

  • The aerospace industry is making great efforts to convert to CO2-free flying.
  • Startups and digitalization are perceived as increasingly important in this context.

JEC World – The Leading International Composites Show, Paris

JEC World gathered the whole value chain of the composite industry in Paris, France. The event brought together not only all major global companies, but also innovative startups in the field of composites and advanced materials, experts, academics, scientists, and R&D leaders. It offered a unique showcase of what composites can bring to various application sectors, from aerospace to marine, from construction to automotive, and an unlimited source of inspiration for participants from these industries.

Caroline Albert, our Co-Founder, visited the fair for 2 days to reconnect with composite manufacturers and machine suppliers. Her biggest takeaways:

  • Especially in composite manufacturing with its highly complex processes, it is extremely important to understand quality drivers and their interdependencies; to do so, data analyses is indispensable in the future.
  • Manufacturers start seeing the value of production data and push machine suppliers to provide digital solutions.

10. Technologietransfer-Kongress 2022, Augsburg

The tenth technology transfer congress of the Augsburg TransferEinrichtungen (TEA) network, organized by Regio Augsburg Wirtschaft GmbH, had new topics on the agenda as well as perennial favorites such as digitization and AI, Work 4.0, human-machine cooperation, robotics, big data, materials research, innovation management and resource efficiency. This year, the congress also integrated offerings from the AI Production Network and the TOSS initiative (Technology Offensive for Structural Change in Southern Germany).

Christoph Braun, our main application engineer and AI enthusiast, presented the nebumind software and use cases for AI, some of wich have been realized and some of which we are currently working on. His main takeaways:

  • AI use cases can be found in all industrial areas, everyone agrees though: high quality data and high quality pre-processing is absolutely necessary for valuable outcomes
  • A great event for networking and exchanging ideas on AI in manufacturing; more and more industrial AI clusters are emerging.
